Water
Today, water remains the main element for life on the planet. However, it remains a challenge to have systems for supplying 1.1 billion people and sanitation for 2.4 billion people. We still do not know in detail the amount of groundwater in most countries and present challenges in terms of the quality that is delivered to the community. Its responsible care and use is one of the main topics on most agendas globally. However, the biggest challenges are not directly related to “visible” water, but rather to the hidden consumption of our goods and services. This is why it is necessary to know the impacts, particularly the water footprint of these processes to promote more sustainable lifestyles. Water is a vital resource for our subsistence. It is necessary to be able to have more sustainable production models and more responsible consumption schemes.
